After 60 Years of Wondering, I Think I Am Okay ...

Kolby Fehlberg-BurnsComment

Fourth grade was a lot. Fourth graders are between 9 and 10 for those of us who don’t remember.

Not only did I have to get glasses but according to my teacher, I held my pencil all wrong. It was time to learn cursive! I liked cursive. In fact as I got older, I spent a lot of time doing calligraphy! In class, we would be practicing our cursive letters on lined sheets of paper. A, B, C, etc. The teacher walked around the class observing how we were doing.

Every time she came to me I would be holding my pencil wrong. (Well according to her). She would correct me and make me hold it the “right way”. Needless to say, my penmanship went down while doing it the “right way”. As soon as she passed, I would go back to my way.

Now 60 years later, I saw this on the web.

Now I know my pencil grip has a name, Dynamic Quadrupod. And also …

I am okay. I don’t hold my pencil weird or wrong after all!

Thanks for Listening
